Pontardawe Arts Centre Cinema Project - Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy Team

Tender description

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council wished to appoint a Lead Consultant lead design team to work with the Council and Art Centre organisations to undertake the further design of an option identified by a Design Feasibility Study (RIBA Stages 0-2) in support of a new build 70 seat Cinema within the external yard adjacent to the existing building . In addition reconfiguration of internal areas is required to facilitate an improved visitor experience and improve secondary income for the Centre. The project is being supported by the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and the Arts Council of Wales and will provide Pontardawe Arts Centre with the basis for a future funding application and subsequent construction. Each design or specialist consultant will be part of the Consultants organization or sub-contracted to the Lead Consultant as sub-consultants using NEC Sub Contract or RIBA Standard Agreement Forms. A Business Feasibility Study was also commissioned to run alongside the Design Feasibility Study which will be available to the successful consultant. It is the clients wish that the two separate pieces of consultancy are considered in close liaison with each other to provide a holistic development option for the building that will meet the Pontardawe Art Centre’s future artistic, commercial and community aspirations.
