Tender description

The library management system (LMS) is at the core of all the library’s operations, from acquisition of stock to lending of materials and budget management. The system is in operation across all campus libraries, providing an integrated service which is used by all library staff and forms the basis of the customer-facing service to library users. Also included are a suite of related products to provide support for the self-service terminals, authentication processes for e-Payments and borrower data and software for producing management reports from the library database. Associated services include the library online public catalogue, inter-library loan supply and a staff interface supporting mobile devices to give flexibility in providing support to users. The LMS is a large and complex service which essentially forms the infrastructure underpinning all library processes and integrates with other platforms and services both within and external to the university. Provision of library management system subscription via direct award from the national framework — the provision of managed services for business solutions ref Y16018. An initial 3-year contract with the potential for the University, acting at its discretion, to extend up to a total further period of 12 months.
