Summary of the work The specialist will be working with the Local Digital Collaboration Unit to create and design digital content for the Local Digital Programme. Early Market Engagement n/a Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will be working with a multi disciplinary, digital team. What Specialists Work On Create and design digital content for the Local Digital programme including the Local Digital Fund, Local Digital Declaration, Cyber and promotional campaigns. - Management of the Local Digital WordPress website (localdigital.gov.uk) - Social media management and content creation - Copywriting and proof reading across the all Local Digital channels (digital & tradional), to include blogs, newsletter, - email, marketing material and comms collateral Skills & Experience • Minimum 4 years experience in web graphic design. • Minimum 4 years experience in website design and management. • Minimum 4 years experience in copywriting and proof reading. • Minimum 4 years experience in social media and content management. • Minimum 4 years experience in branding and email marketing. • Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings in a compelling way. Nice to Haves • Experienced in writing content for central government (gov.uk) • Proven ability to articulate complex content in a clear and succinct way. Work Location 2 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 4DF and remotely. Working Arrangments Flexible, part-time 2-3 days a week. Current working arrangements are from home. Team is co-located in 2 Marsham Street when office reopens fully. All expenses must be included in the quoted rate. Security Clearance A minimum of BPSS clearance is required. Additional T&Cs None. There is no current incumbent in this role. 2. Could you confirm whether this role is inside or outside of IR35? This role will be inside IR35. 3. DOS framework terms are for outside IR35 roles. Can you confirm this work will be *inside* IR35? Following further clarification, it has been confirmed that this role is, in fact, outside IR35. 4. Is this a hybrid graphic designer and content designer role as you ask for a minimum 4 years experience in web graphic design and a minimum 4 years experience in website design and management? True content designers don't have these skills and you also stated the role will be part of a multidisciplinary team so I'm unsure why you'd want this person to take on these responsibilities. This is a hybrid role. The comms team has a wide remit, looking after digital and traditional communication channels such as the website, social media channels, blogs, email marketing, event planning and management, community engagement etc. Currently this is managed by 1 person within the team, so it's important that the new edition can work across the board so this work can be shared out. Although varied, the key three areas this person will be covering is the LDCU website (website design/management), writing content (content design / copywriting part) and upholding our brand by creating quality assets (graphic design skills). 5. Over the 6 months what is the expected work volume in days? We can commit to a minimum of 2 days a week so over 6 months that is a minimum of 48 days over 6 months. 6. Can you please clarify what you are specifically looking for in terms of experience in "web graphic design"? ie are there certain Programs you would like this individual to have knowledge of? We are looking for someone that can help us create visual assets such as social media graphics, comms and marketing material , website banners etc. Someone with Adobe knowledge would be ideal, however the candidates just need to have the skills and access to a design programme that can create the artwork needed. We use CANVA as a team, but it has its limitations. 7. Can you commit to a minimum of 3 days per week, for the duration of the contract, should that be the preference from our Consultant? We can commit to a minimum of 2 days a week. 8. This opportunity is for a single specialist. We have a highly experienced and accomplished content designer working in government right now, but your requirements span other specialist areas of expertise.
