Tender description

The successful supplier will be required to provide cleaning services at Clapham Manor Primary School, Belmont Road, Clapham, London, SW4 0BZ. There are approximately 420 children aged 5-11 years split over 2 sites: the primary school is located on the main site and the nursery on the second site. Following a building extension in 2006, the overall design re-used an existing 125-year Victorian school by giving it a new lease of life by adding a new 4-storey extension joined to the existing school with a glazed link building, providing access at each level. The ground floor of the new building is glazed and 3 stories above are each marked by 6 bands of coloured glazing. The new building was nominated for the RIBA Stirling Prize and came second. Basis of contract: The contract shall commence on 1.9.2020 for a period of 3 years on a fixed price basis. Over the 3 years, the turnover of the contract is estimated at 350 000 GBP. Objectives: The appointed supplier will preferably be corporate members of BICSc and have significant experience of delivering quality cleaning services within school premises. The supplier should have suitable experience and expertise of successfully managing the TUPE process and should also have a strong operational base in London with adequate local contract support and operational flexibility to ensure cleaning standards are consistently maintained. Ultimately, it is important that the supplier can demonstrate an ability to deliver productivity and efficiencies through the application of best practice and innovation and as a result will be expected to deliver sustainable quality and ‘best value’ to the school.
