Parsloes Primary School, Staff Room Extension, Alteration & Refurbishment

Tender description

Barking & Dagenham is undertaking a project at Parsloes Primary School to provide an enlarged and enhanced staff room. This consists of a single storey extension, to be built on to the existing staff room, extending into an inner courtyard. The existing staffroom will be remodelled and refurbished. In addition, there will be external works and landscaping to provide enclosed external spaces for staff use. Due to buildability issues with limited access to the courtyard, the design includes for timber frame construction with a view to minimising wet trades and allowing for craning materials and components into place. The anticipated tender period will be from mid-January 2020 to mid-February, with a view to an earliest start on site in April 2020. The contract period would be nominated by the successful tenderer with a view to optimising construction costs, but also to minimising disruption to the school as work will be carried out during term times.
