Tender description
The Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) acquired the service of Hillingdon Community Health (HCH) and Camden Provider Services (CPS) in February and April 2011, respectively, and Milton Keynes and community services in April 2013. It is envisaged that a 2-tier system may be required; the first to test glucose in normal clinical situations; the second will be a system to enable the testing of blood ketones in Type 1 patients who have community nursing input and who are also unwell or clinically compromised. It is essential that any solution provides not only the required product(s), but also provides the potential for good clinical outcomes as well as value for money. CNWL would like to find a provider who can supply of a complete solution for testing of capillary blood glucose by CNWL, including the supply of test equipment, consumables and the provision of a managed External Quality Assessment (EAQ) service. This procurement intents to result in a contract or contracts to meet this requirement for the duration of 36 months with the option to extend by up to a further 2 periods of 12 months.
