Maintenance services of public-lighting installations and traffic lights

The smart street lighting project is an invest to save strategy for the Bradford District and will involve the replacement of old street lighting luminaires with LED units and replace life expired columns. Please note that the maintenance and repair of existing assets as well as responsibility for converting heritage/specialist lighting to LED will continue to be delivered by the in house operational teams. The successful contractor will need to carry out the following tasks: — survey comprising of up to 56 500 (fifty-six thousand five hundred) street light assets, refer to clause 171AR, — lighting and electrical design comprising of up to 53 700 (fifty three thousand seven hundred) Assets, refer to Appendix 1/10, — luminaire changes to street light assets comprising of up to 28 700 (twenty eight thousand seven hundred) with up to 6 200 (six thousand two hundred) requiring sleeving, — column replacements to street light assets comprising of up to 15 600 (fifteen thousand six hundred), — gear tray replacements to street light assets comprising up to 4 000 (four thousand), — load (kwh per year) must be reduced by at least 65 %, — the new lighting will be controlled using a central management system (CMS) installed as part of the project.
