The NERC Argon Isotope Facility at SUERC requires a laser package comprising: 1) A CO2 laser designed for step-heating of geological materials for Ar/Ar dating; and 2) A 193 nm excimer laser for ablation of geological materials for Ar/Ar dating. The laser systems will be employed on an ARGUS VI noble gas mass spectrometer and hence the laser software must be fully compatible with the Thermo Scientific QTegra software suite for bi-directional control. In addition to noble gas applications, the excimer laser will be used for U-Pb geochronology and coupled with a Thermo Scientific Quadrupole ICPMS. The laser should be ready for delivery within 12 weeks of order. Please refer to the tender document for additional information.
