Tender description

Flintshire County Council is looking to engage an organisation (either a single provider or a lead provider with a sub contractor) to manage and operate 2 closed landfill sites. The Council is tendering this to provide certainty and resilience of landfill management over the next 7 years. Flintshire County Council is looking to engage an organisation (either a single provider or a lead provider with a sub contractor) to manage and operate 2 closed landfill sites. The Council is tendering this to provide certainty and resilience of landfill management over the next 7 years. The 2 closed landfill sites at the core of the services are: Brookhill Landfill Site: located approximately 1,5 km north of Buckley, Flintshire, North Wales at NGR SJ 278 656. The site is accessed via the Pinfold Industrial Estate, Pinfold Lane, which is located off the A494 Mold to Ewloe Road. Standard Landfill Site: located approximately 1 km north-east of Buckley town centre, Flintshire, North Wales (NGR SJ 290 650). The site is accessed via the B5127 (Liverpool Road). The contract will include responsibility for providing the following; The provision of routine environmental monitoring and maintenance services of the closed landfill sites to ensure that the environmental risk posed by the sites is managed in line with best available guidance, good industry practice and to comply with the site waste management permits; Maximise any potential for income from energy revenues and manage the infrastructure required at both sites to generate electricity, whilst at the same time balancing the levels of extraction to ensure safe operating conditions on sites are not compromised.
