Tender description

The authority is re-tendering the contract for direct payment support services with an anticipated contract start date of 1.4.2020. The aim of the service is to provide service users and their parents/carers with: — high quality information, guidance and advice on direct payments and the legislation involved, — information on purchasing care and support directly, — information on the support services and opportunities available locally. The service also aims to promote the use of direct payments with all stakeholders and support the recruitment of personal assistants locally. The successful provider will also have the opportunity to provide managed account and payroll services. This contract is for 3 years, with an option to extend for 2 discretionary 1 year periods, making 5 years in total (3 + 1 + 1). The maximum annual budget is 170 000 GBP for the core information, advice and guidance service. The successful provider will also offer managed account and payroll services to service users. Service users will have full choice and control in relation to using a managed account/payroll service.
