Tender description

The scope of work will typically consist of the following elements: — supply and install of local general power to new equipment, — manage the changeover from any existing system to the new systems with no downtime to any existing CCTV provision, — supply and install IP CCTV cameras, posts and bracketry, licenses, PSUs transmission equipment, UPS and associated local cables, for new IP CCTV locations, — installation of active and passive IT components to support the CCTV network, — remove redundant CCTV equipment where upgrading existing systems, — provision of comprehensive method statements and site-specific risk assessments, detailing the work processes. The site is known as Guild Lodge and is a secure mental health facility. The site has multiple separate buildings spread over the full site complex and was built in 3 phases. The site has an existing video recording system consisting of several networked dedicated micro (DM) sprite digital video recorders installed in the CCTV room on the first floor in the Admin Building. The front security desk has a number of monitors as well as 2 DM keyboards and joysticks where security can view and control the cameras. Both internal and external fixed, panoramic and PTZ cameras are connected to this system. This specification relates to the whole and complete proposed CCTV system element of the work associated with the new IP CCTV systems to be installed across Guild lodge, Whittingham site. It will be the responsibility of the CCTV contractor to supply, install and commission the new IP CCTV equipment to provide a fully integrated solution in line with the project requirements and this CCTV technical specification. It will be the responsibility of the CCTV contractor to make due allowance in the tender for additional labour time due the ground floor ceiling areas in all buildings are 250 mm concrete with a plaster board cover in the proposed CCTV positions. On site, CCTV Contractors will have to be escorted at all times by the client. In locked accessed roof areas CCTV Contractors can work without an escort and will be supplied with a 2-way radio for emergencies. These roof areas have emergency exits in case of fire. The works shall comprise the electrical services installation generally as set out on the tender drawings and in this specification and shall include for all costs in connection with the design, supply, delivery, off-loading, on and off site storage, protection, handling, assembly, setting to work, testing and commissioning as required. The work shall include the supplying and installing materials such as conduit, couplings, saddles, bushes, bonding link.
