Tender description

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority (the Authority) is looking to establish a contract with a provider for internal audit services. This procurement is for internal audit services covering the scope of work and responsibilities of the Authority. The fire and rescue service under the leadership of the Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive delivers services to the communities of South Yorkshire and consequently is where internal audit activity is predominantly focussed. The Authority has delegated certain functions to the audit and governance committee that oversees the work of internal audit. The Authority is looking for an internal audit service that: 1) Aligns with the strategies, objectives and risks; 2) Is insightful, proactive and future-focused; 3) Promotes organisational improvement; 4) Is fully compliant with the public sector internal audit standards; and 5) Can demonstrate excellent professional credibility and experience. The successful provider will ensure they provide the range of services required to deliver a successful service i.e. — systems-based audit, — probity, compliance and regularity audit, — contract and procurement audit, — IT audit, — Investigations work, including, amongst others, issues arising out of the standing orders, financial regulations, anti-fraud and corruption strategy, confidential reporting policy and code of conduct, — advice and consultancy.
