Tender description

Peterborough City Council has supported the development of Extra Care Housing in order to realise its Vision that there should be a range of housing and care options available to people over 55 living in its community that maximises their ability to live independently for as long as possible, and prevents their inappropriate admission into long-term residential care or hospital. Extra care schemes tend to be larger than sheltered schemes and provide direct access to a care provider 24/7. All schemes have an accommodation scheme manager. In Peterborough there are currently five schemes consisting of 224 units. This open tender applies to two extra care schemes in Peterborough; Bishopsfield and St Edmunds. 1.2 This procurement is being run in accordance with the Light Touch Regime, provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (Chapter 3, Section 7: Social and other specific services). It is anticipated that Transfer of Undertaking (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 will apply, bidders will be required to download, sign and upload through the Q&A section, a TUPE Undertaking of Confidentiality in the Authorities e-procurement system, Sourcedogg.
