Tender description

Essex County Council (ECC) is considering options for a Countywide Community Wellbeing and resilience service, tackling health inequalities at its heart. This service will deliver traditional health improvement programmes, including but not limited to, smoking cessation, weight management and NHS health checks. This approach represents a move from traditional service delivery to community owned support options where appropriate. ECC invites prospective providers to attend an online market engagement event on Monday 12 October 2020. Social care are committed to develop a wellbeing offer in communities of Essex and across Essex that improves people’s independence and wellbeing. Connecting people to information and tools to promote healthy lives and wellbeing at the earliest stage, is key to preventing, reduce or delaying the escalation of need, managing demand and creating a sustainable future social care offer. Social care will continue to work with public health and the winning provider(s), over the course of the next 12 months to co-design this offer as part of the future service with the intention of investing in the resource to deliver this during the term of the contract.
