Grounds maintenance services

Tender description

The requirement is to provide grounds maintenance services to Northumbrian Water Ltd. This will include both the Northumbrian Water and Essex and Suffolk Water operating areas. The services will include grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding and other ad-hoc ground maintenance works. There maybe the requirement to provide winter services such as snow clearance and gritting but this is not guaranteed. The requirement will be split into lots and contractors will be able to bid for any or all the lots. There will be six lots in total and in the Northumbrian Water Ltd operating area the work will be split into the following: 1) Northumberland and Tyneside (Excluding Kielder), 2) Central Area, 3) Tees Area, 4) Kielder, 5) Essex, 6) Suffolk. More detail about each area will be given in the pre-qualification documents. The services will include grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding and other ad-hoc ground maintenance works. The duration of the framework is 3 years with option to extend for a further 2 years dependent upon business needs, markets and performance and will be subject to regular reviews. The contracting entity reserves the option to remove permanently or suspend any contractor at any time who falls below acceptable standards of performance in any respect. The supplier will need to carry out grass cutting, weeding, hedge trimming as detailed within the tender.
