Tender description

The University of Plymouth will be looking to acquire a Wind Generation System for use over the COAST laboratory (www.plymouth.ac.uk/research/institutes/marine-institute/coast-laboratory) 35m x 15.5 m Ocean Basin. Our ideal requirements include: - A 3m x 3m wind outlet installed on a gantry spanning the 15.5 m width of the flume and mounted on pre-existing rails. - Wind outlet needs to be removable from the basin when not in use - Wind outlet can be rotated ±30 degrees relative to the normal and moveable in the vertical direction - Maximum generated wind speeds of approximately 10 m/s - Wind generated by a bank of individually controllable fans - Flow conditioning to provide flow turbulence around 7% - Noise levels around 80dB
