Public Health England (PHE) is planning to award a contract to BioTek Instruments Ltd for the provision of plate washers for use as part of its Vaccine Taskforce response. Public Health England (PHE) is planning to award a contract to BioTek Instruments Ltd for the provision of plate washers for use as part of its Vaccine Taskforce response. PHE believes that the Biotek 405TSUS Plate Washers are the only plate washers which can meet our technical needs. This is because the new plate washers need to be compatible with existing equipment already in place at the Vaccine Taskforce laboratories. The assay that the new plate washers will be used for is a validated assay which uses Biotek plate washers at key stages in the process. Any change to the washers used would require some revalidation activity which would be time consuming and costly. Also, the BioTek plate washers are required for our needs as they have angled wash jets which are specially designed to be gentle in cell based assays, the ability to adjust all three axes of the dispense and aspiration heads to ensure that cell monolayers are not compromised and adjustable wash rates (independent in both aspiration and dispense modes).
