Tender description

The Bank of England has an existing dealer boards estate in place consisting of 36 handsets in our primary office, as well as 20 handsets in our secondary office. This system is connected to our Avaya telephone exchange via an ISDN line to enable incoming/outgoing calls. The system also has various private lines connected to it. These private lines are a direct point to point line from BoE to other Banks. There are around 140 of these private lines which are generally from other Banks/building societies. The system is also connected to our voice recorders – this enables all calls made to/from the boards to be recorded. The system is not connected to the Banks network and there is no remote access to it. The Bank is keen to understand the capability of the market in this area, and the approximate cost of this capability. Responses to this RFI should detail the systems capability and approximate cost of provision to replace this system ahead of a potential tender exercise. Please note that this RFI is not a call for competition and seeks only to gather information at this stage. The Bank would also be interested in understanding differing levels of capability or differing solutions which would provide the same outcome as the current system for the Bank. If there are proposed solutions which would provide a better outcome for the Bank then this information would be gratefully received as part of this RFI.
