Procurement consultancy services

Tender description

Having completed a procurement exercise, on 11 January 2011, the Trust entered into a Business Transfer Agreement and a contract with Health Trust Europe for the provision of core purchasing, supply-chain management, consultancy, commissioning efficiency and other services (together with administrative support and other ancillary services) (‘the Contract’). The Contract was for 5 years with an option to extend for up to a maximum of a further 5 years. The option to extend was exercised by letter dated 15 June 2015 and the Contract is due to expire on 11 January 2021. The Trust is entering a short term extension of 12 months in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 72(1)(e) and Regulation 72(8). The Trust has recently been affected by the global pandemic and continues to suffer from the pressures which Covid-19 has placed on the National Health Service in the UK and elsewhere. It is keen to maintain supply chains to NHS bodies at this critical time. The Trust intends that the proposed short term extension falls within the ‘safe harbour’ provisions of permitted amendments in accordance with Regulation 72(1)(e) and Regulation 72(8) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
