PEACE IV- Beyond Tolerance: Shared Spaces Engagement Programme Drive-in Cinemas

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council have secured £4.7m EU funding for the PEACE IV Local Authority Action Plan - Beyond Tolerance. As lead partner, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council will be responsible for the delivery of the PEACE IV action plan which will promote peace and reconciliation in the local area focusing on three key themes: “Children and Young People”, “Shared Spaces and Services” and “Building Positive Relations”. The Council is seeking to appoint a competent supplier to deliver the Shared Services Engagement Programme – Drive-in Cinemas - under the Shared Spaces and Services theme. The aim of the Shared Spaces Engagement project is to build relationships and promote positive engagement between communities and services/agencies and to increase the use of shared space in areas where it is contested by challenging negative perceptions about certain local areas, buildings and services. Suppliers are invited to tender for the delivery of drive-in cinema events in each of the seven District Electoral Areas which have been separated into three Lots. Suppliers may bid for one, all or any combination of Lots they are capable of delivering:  Lot 1 - Newry and Slieve Gullion – 2 drive-in cinema events, one in each DEA area  Lot 2 – Downpatrick and Rowallane – 2 drive-in cinema events, one in each DEA area  Lot 3 – Crotlieve, Slieve Croob and The Mournes – 3 drive-in cinema events, one in each DEA area
