Guidelines for the Development of Food Trails

Fáilte Ireland proposes to create a set of guidelines to inspire and inform the development of visitor food trails in Ireland. The project will support key asks called out in regional destination development activity to deliver brilliant visitor experiences, address visitor specific needs and drive innovation in the sector. The guidelines are predominantly targeted at local authorities, association bodies and established or new networks and will need to observe and adhere to immediate and longer-term visitor requirements in the context of COVID-19. The guidelines will advocate going beyond a simple directory of producers and/or food service in an area to provide a well-planned route with clear directions, visitor ready experiences and a strong story that is aligned to the relevant brand region.
