The quantum technology transfer centre at the University of Birmingham, as part of the quantum hub for metrology and sensors, is inviting tenders for a hydrogen maser: • at least one 10 MHz output; • at least one pulse per second (PPS) output; • all outputs to be 50 Ohm impedance; • integrated battery power supply able to power the unit for greater than 12 hours in the event of mains power failure; • stability of <1E-13 at 1 seconds averaging time; • stability of <2E-15 at 10 000 seconds averaging time; • phase noise -120dBc/Hz or better at 1Hz offset, -150dBc/Hz or better at 1 kHz offset; • magnetic sensitivity <2E-14 per gauss; • temperature sensitivity of <1E-15 per degree Celsius; • operational lifetime of 20 years or greater; • remote monitoring via platform agnostic computer interface; • warranty period of >3 years; • powered by standards UK plug and mains.
