Shropshire Council holds a current contract for a carers support service which expires on 31 January 2021 and is therefore now recommissioning and retendering the service and wishes to appoint a provider who is able to deliver a quality carers support service with a contract commencement date on 1 February 2021. The budget available is fixed at GBP 160 000 per annum for the duration of the Contract which will be for an initial term of 2 years with the potential to extend the contract by a further 2 years subject to Contract performance and budget availability. The price will not be subject to payment reviews for the duration of the contract term. Applicants should note that it is considered that the Employee ‘Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations ‘2006 (‘TUPE’) will apply to this contract. The service will be delivered in the administrative area of Shropshire Council and the service provider will required to: Provide information, advice and signposting for carers Build the confidence and capacity of carers to create and run local peer support groups for carers and support these groups to run effectively. Create a county wide carer network that brings together and connects individual carers and local peer support groups. Provide one to one support to carers face to face, over the telephone or virtually. Be an active partner of Shropshire carers, working to support the organisations working across health and social care in Shropshire to engage with unpaid and family carers within their services and signpost them to the service. Lead on events in Shropshire that raise awareness of the role of unpaid and family carers. The budget available is fixed at GBP 160 000 per annum for the duration of the contract which will be for an initial term of 2 years with the potential to extend the contract by a further 2 years subject to contract performance and budget availability.
