The authority is reviewing how recyclable materials collected via both our household collection service and network of Household Recycling Centres (HRC) are transported, stored, processed and brokered. The authority has published a preliminary market consultation to understand the market’s appetite to tender for aspects of this work. The authority is reviewing how recyclable materials collected via both our household collection service and network of Household Recycling Centres (HRC) are transported, stored, processed and brokered. The authority has published a preliminary market consultation to understand the market’s appetite to tender for aspects of this work. The purpose of this PMC is to ask the market if it has the ability to: • receive, store, and process bulk loads of recyclable materials into their own facility; • collect/haul recyclable materials from the authority's HRC sites using their own staff and vehicles and subsequent storage and processing at their own facility; • provide either a material brokering service or direct arrangement for recyclable materials received or collected at the contractor’s facility. The authority is proposing two contracts: Recyclable materials tender – to include haulage and processing of materials from one location per lot (DN16). Bidders would be able to bid for one or more of the following lots: • steel cans; • aluminium cans; • glass; • dry mixed recyclables (DMR); • paper. Skip framework – to include all processing of materials and either some or all movements/haulage from multiple locations within North Lincolnshire (Household Recycling Centres, Bring Banks or other NLC Sites) or direct delivery. Bidders would be able to bid for one or more of the following lots for lots: • wood; • street sweepings and gully tanker arisings; • plasterboard; • asbestos; • inert; • cardboard; • scrap metal; • textiles; • auto batteries; • confidential waste; • ad-hoc skips; • chemicals.
