Tender description

To deliver prescriber and practice antibiotic prescribing intelligence reports and establish a website with shortcut for accessing the Cheshire & Merseyside single formulary for the prescribing of antibiotic medications. The Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (CSU) provide services to the Cheshire and Merseyside Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and the General Practices within this footprint. The CSU oversee the EMIS system on behalf of Cheshire & Merseyside CCGs. This is a patient record system, from which data is drawn about prescribing practices by general practice and by CCG footprint. They also manage for the Cheshire & Merseyside CCGs the review and updating of the Single Prescribing formulary for antibiotic prescribing. For the purposes of our Antimicrobial Resistance work (which reports to the Antimicrobial Resistance Board, and to the Health and Care Partnership), we need to review prescribing of antibiotic practice by prescriber, practice, CCG and Cheshire & Merseyside footprint. This is none identifiable to patients who would have received a prescription. We also want to commission a website to host the Single Prescribing formulary for Adults and Pediatric care. The Midlands and Lancashire CSU produce this for Cheshire & Merseyside CCGs. Such a website and short cut will enable prescribers to refer easily to the single formulary at there desk or remotely when prescribing requires this. The CSU is the only organisation for this work, as they naturally have access to and support these areas of work across this footprint.
