Tender description

The MHRA needs specialised validated suppliers of microbiological and sterility testing following validated current pharmacopoeial methods, such as those in the European Pharmacopoeia or the United States Pharmacopoeia, including sterility and preservative efficacy testing, total aerobic microbial count / total yeasts mould count and test for specified micro-organisms. When testing is required, this is usually for specific reasons rather than ‘routine’ QC or QA testing, using the microbiological or sterility test results to inform any follow-up actions. The MHRA therefore favours a framework agreement of more than 1 supplier who will be able to offer a ‘suite’ of tests, including any rapid microbiological methods which allows the Agency to provide a robust and timely service to meet our public health obligations.
