Tender description

Northern Gas Networks are seeking to award a contract to a single supplier purchase circa 27-35 new mini-diggers with maintenance and training for use within their network. NB: Northern Gas Networks preferred option is to purchase new vehicles for the fleet, however NGN are open to proposals of older vehicles, but must still meet all mandatory requirements detailed within section 2.2 specification of requirements. Northern Gas Networks (NGN) currently operate a fleet of circa 35 mini diggers throughout the entire network. NGN are seeking to award a contract to a single supplier to purchase circa 27-35 mini diggers to replace the existing fleet-the successful bidder is required to provide a contract for the purchase of mini diggers and include within the contract maintenance and training. NB: Northern Gas Networks preferred option is to purchase new vehicles for the fleet, however NGN are open to proposals of older vehicles, but must still meet all mandatory requirements detailed within section 2.2 specification of requirements. 2.2 Specification of requirements The proposed mini-digger must meet the following mandatory requirements: 1.5 tonne-3 tonne Small lightweight fully cabbed design Towable on a road worthy trailer by conventional vehicle tracked (as opposed to wheeled) with viable ergonomic driving modes to accommodate various terrains with anti-roll features and back blade protection to be supplied with bucket(s), road breaker (pecker) attachments and a secure road worthy trailer with ratchet straps disabled drive when operator leaves seat reversing alarm Safety glazing An immobiliser A tracking device Furthermore, bidders must provide the following mandatory requirements in support of this tender: Training Training for the proposed unit is required at a maximum of 3 of NGNs depot locations listed below. Maintenance Maintenance is required for the proposed unit for the duration of the proposed contract. (maintenance must be carried out at a location within NGNs operational network – shown on the NGN map above) Trial (tender evaluation purposes) As part of the evaluation process NGN required a 1-day trial on the NGN network of the proposed unit (only bidder(s) who are shortlisted at tender stage will be required to provide a trial unit) The trial location will be held at either Northern Gas Networks, Rose Ave, Nether Poppleton, YO26 6RU or New Park, Ripon Road JCT Ripon Way, Harrogate, HG1 2AU - exact trial location will be confirmed to the shortlisted bidders.
