Brief description of requirement UK Shared Business Services Ltd (UK SBS) on behalf of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), wishes to establish a Contract for the purchase of 22 power converters as per the specification. UK SBS is managing this procurement process in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as may be amended from time to time) (the ‘Regulations’). This is a supplies contract being procured under the Open OJEU Procedure regulations. This RFP sets out details of the contract and expectations of any successful supplier. This contract will be awarded to a sole supplier. Scope This specification covers the procurement of 4-quadrant power converters for the CLARA project — phase 2. A total of 22 power converters are required (plus an optional extra for a noncommittal additional 2 units, ordered collectively with the 22 power converters). The power converters offered must operate in all four quadrants of the voltage-current axis. Therefore the output shall swing seamlessly from negative to positive voltage and the output current may also swing from positive to negative values. As a result the power supply will function as a source or a sink so it will either deliver power to a load (magnet) or absorb power from a load. This functionality is required to allow the Quadrupole magnet to be scanned at a rate of up to 10A/s through its full operating range to assess optimum magnetic field setting and lattice configuration. Please ensure you review all attached information to ensure a full understanding of this requirement. All attachments can be found with the Document Uploads tab within the Delta eSourcing Portal.
