Tender description

Shropshire Council is seeking tenders for the delivery of community-based sexual health services that incorporates prevention, three levels of sexual health and contraception services to work with the newly commissioned digital offer. The focus of service delivery will be prevention and self-management in order to create positive health outcomes for the community it serves. With a population of approximately 317 000, Shropshire represents an interesting challenge to the delivery of services, not least because of its rurality, restricted transport infrastructure, and containing many small, diverse and widely separated communities. Sexual Health issues remain distinct and disproportionately affect those within deprived areas, therefore we are proposing a channel shift from a clinic-based model to increased digital access to testing services to improve accessibility and reachability for service users. The contract will comprise of the following elements: • clinical outreach service level 1 and 2 • specialist level 3 genito urinary medicine and contraception • condom distribution scheme • psychosexual counselling service.
