Tender description

Cornwall Council has statutory duties in relation to Children in Care (CIC) and Care Leavers. This includes children and young people having access to participation and engagement opportunities. Cornwall Council wants to work with you to understand how we can provide the In care/leaving care (CIC) and participation and engagement services that are high quality and affordable. We would like to invite you to attend our engagement event that is likely to be held virtually. We would like to continue to build on our partnership and offer and encourage you to attend. If you would like to attend, please let us know on your reply slip. The session is to be held: Date time location reply by noon. Wednesday 30 September 2020 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Microsoft Teams Wednesday 23 September 2020. If you are interested in offering in care/leaving care (CIC) and/or participation and engagement services for children and young people and would like to come to the workshop please complete the ‘Information Required’ section at the end of this notice and return this via the Due North messaging system or email to Melissa.Williams@cornwall.gov.uk by noon on the ‘reply by’ date. This event is not part of any procurement process. It is purely for information purposes. Questions and matters raised at these meetings may be used by the Council in developing this service. Participation in this event will not prejudice suppliers participating in any future procurement. Background There are currently two contracts in place, that end 30 June 2021: In care/leaving care CIC: • Cornwall spends approximately GBP 285 668 per year on an external children in care provision each year; • the current provider assists approximately 150 young people throughout the year. Participation and Engagement • Cornwall spends approximately GBP 112 588.00 per year on the participation and engagement provision each year; • the current provider assists approximately 150 young people throughout the year.
