Donegal County Council, on behalf of the Local Enterprise Office Donegal is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified consultant/consultancy to deliver the LEAN for Micro programme to small businesses in 2020 & 2021. The contracting authority proposes to run the LEAN for Micro Programme in Donegal where the objective is to increase the awareness of the benefits of LEAN as a management process to allow companies to become more efficient, effective and sustainable. Supporting the companies as they apply the learning and implement a key LEAN project in a practical and measured way. The Programme will involve the following steps for companies that are successful in securing a place: 1: Workshop/s - Introduction to the fundamentals of LEAN and how it can be applied. Propose up to 1.5 days to cover this. Delivered to a group of potential programme participants 2: Company Review – a review of current practices and processes to identify areas (up to 3) where LEAN can be applied. Key Metrics to be noted at this point for further reporting & benchmarking. This will be done by successful contractor at each business. 3: Selection of Project – identify one key project, where LEAN principles will be applied and implemented with the support of the successful contract over 4 half day meetings/onsite visits. Metrics to be noted as project progresses. This should be done in terms of priority and sequence to allow for further continuous improvement. 4: Final Review & Report – upon completion of the project and application of LEAN, key metrics captured and report noting key changes and impact of the changes on the business. Noting further areas to allow the company to continue to progress the project. Enterprise Ireland LEAN report template can be utlised for this. Final report should be agreed between the contractor and the participating company.
