Tender description

This request for tenders is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced trainer to deliver a tailored training programme designed to provide participants with the skills to develop the Shannon Estuary Way into a world class visitor destination. The “Shannon Estuary Way Destination Development Training Programme” has several objectives including the following: To develop a destination identity based on shared history across the estuary To develop a “Destination Mindset” amongst community and trade that transcends county boundaries and has the capacity to deliver a distinctive Shannon Estuary Way experience to visitors To engage all communities along the estuary route in efforts to develop this destination identity To develop strong collaborative networks and a shared vision for the development of the Shannon Estuary Way as a tourism destination and ensure that all towns along its route are working as a unified destination To build awareness amongst the communities and businesses of each other’s product offerings and experiences and equip the communities and businesses to connect their experiences and cross- promote their individual offerings within the destination To show communities how to review existing core assets in their town/village in order to establish a priority list of work for medium to long term investment and encourage forward planning so that tourism development works can be integrated into other development work Highlight individual businesses, communities and groups or activities providers etc along the route and create a sense of destination that will lead to increased visitor numbers and lengthen dwell time, in turn increasing visitor spend in the area To show communities how to review existing core assets in their town/village in order to establish a priority list of work for medium to long term investment and encourage forward planning so that tourism development works can be integrated into other development work
