The subject matter of the FWC is the provision of editing and proofreading services. Eurofound requires specialised, qualified and experienced English-language editorial services to contribute to the development of Eurofound’s publishing activities and ensure the delivery of high-quality print and online publications, while managing a fluctuating workload and bottlenecks. The editorial function is critical in ensuring the high-quality standard of Eurofound publications. To disseminate its research findings, Eurofound produces a substantial number of research-based publications each year (over 40 in 2019, a total of around 5 000 standard pages). Eurofound’s key information products are reports (100-150 standard pages) and policy briefs (about 30 standard pages). In addition, Eurofound publishes a variety of HTML-based products, such as quarterly reports detailing national-level developments in industrial relations and working conditions. English is the working language of Eurofound and the source language of all publications. Some short items — such as executive summaries — are translated into 20+ languages; for these, a very high-quality of English in the original is vital to ensure effective and accurate translation.
