Tender description

Brief description of requirement The Contracting authority is building the FEBE beamline as an extension to the CLARA accelerator. FEBE will transport a 250 MeV electron beam to a shielded experimental area. Dipole, quadrupole and corrector magnets are required to focus the beam along the FEBE transport line. The CLARA project is split into work packages (WPs), each of which is led by a UKRI staff member. The magnet specifications are set by WP2 Magnets and Undulators, in consultation with WP9 Accelerator Physics, WP11 Mechanical Engineering, and WP13 Electrical Engineering. Deliverables; The deliverables for this project are as follows: • 9 ‘Type 4’ quadrupole magnets • 3 ‘Type 7’ corrector magnets • One spare quadrupole coil • One spare corrector coil • Drawings • QA documents • Measurement data This contract covers the: • magnetic design • engineering design (mechanical, thermal and electrical) • procurement of all materials • manufacture and assembly (including all jigs and fixtures) • magnetic measurement • electrical and mechanical testing, including fiducialisation • documentation • delivery to Daresbury Laboratory, Warrington, WA4 4AD, UK The contract does not cover: • power supplies for the magnets • the supporting girders. This contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria set out in the ITQ/RFP document.
