Over the last number of years IDA Ireland has had various surveys carried out on the infrastructure of the Estate to include a review of Public Lighting, Drainage and the Carriageway including footpaths, kerbing, utility coverings etc. (A full ‘Condition Review Report’ is available) In 2019 the entire Public Lighting system was upgraded and c. 5.60km of new ducting was laid. The infrastructural improvements that remain include the remediation and upgrade of foul and surface water networks, removal of the existing carriageway, delivery of a new carriageway which should include for a macadam wearing course throughout, upgrade and replace existing footpaths, designated cycle lanes that run parallel to the carriageway, pedestrian crossings, speed ramps, bicycle parking and other street furniture. (Note the existing carriageway is made up of 225mm Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) on granular material).
