Procurement of a Works Contractor for the Block A Phase 1 2nd and 3rd Floor Refurbishment at Tyndall National Institute,UCC

UCC hereby issues this information using the open procedure for the appointment of a Works Contractor for the Reconstruction and Upgrade of two Existing Laboratories on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Block A Phase 1 building within the Tyndall National Institute facility to accommodate the relocation of two laboratories comprising Packaging and Component Analysis lab and an Open Access Characterisation facility including the relocation hook up and commissioning of existing process equipment from their current location in Block C 1st and 2nd floor. Tyndall Lab C.2.06 (Packaging & Component Analysis Laboratory) contains an extensive set of capabilities for the analysis of microelectronic components, packages, substrates and interconnect. Tyndall’s Lab C.1.11 Open Access Characterisation Facility is equipped with state-of-the-art wafer probing systems that facilitate on-wafer RF and DC probing, temperature environmental measurements, wafer level reliability tests and wafer mapping of results. The works consists of the demolition of walls, removal of finishes, and removal of services to the existing spaces. The fit-out consists of installation of new mechanical & electrical services, new internal subdivision with new floor, wall and ceiling finishes. Installation of glazed screens, refurbishment of existing external windows /installation of new windows, installation of service gantry's, benching and storage for end users. The works also includes dry lining to the inside face of the external stone walls to increase energy efficiency of the new laboratories. The works will encompass the full mechanical and electrical commissioning of services including life safety systems to allow the handover of the new labs fully functioning for the end users.
