Award of contract without seeking offers through a formal procurement procedure due to the fact that competition is absent for technical reasons. We can currently detect approximately tau down to about 30 pg/mL, whereas the levels of protein expected in plasma are in the region of 10-20 pg/mL. SIMOA has the ability to measure single molecules in a novel technology that is proprietary for Quanterix and supplied exclusively by Quanterix. Under clause 6(1) (b) (ii) of the legislation, a contracting authority may award a contract without competition (only where no reasonable alternative or substitute exists and the absence of competition is not the result of artificial narrowing down of parameters of the procurement).
