Tender description

Negotiated contracts with existing service providers of 'Self-Directed Support' services; these are being used to provide a continuation of the service delivery of the current individual service users. These negotiated contracts are being placed on an interim basis (envisioned for up to 9 months) to be used while a new contract award procedure is undertaken to secure longer term arrangements for existing and new service users. The aforementioned contract award procedure will be advertised in a separate notice, and will be open to existing and new service providers to the Council, and be used for the longer term requirements of self directed support. Self-directed support ‘SDS’ is the method of arranging support in a tailor made way so our ‘Service Users’, who are our most vulnerable people (includes: older adults; adults; and, young people), can live more independently. To maintain relationships and provide continuity for existing service users, the council intend to contract directly with current service providers for a period of up to 9 months. These contracts are limited duration, as under a separate exercise, the Council intend to incorporate these requirements alongside the future home-care support requirements, establish a longer term arrangement, with flexibility to consider new and existing service providers.
