Provision of a Statutory Funeral Service (with Municipal Provision)

Tender description

The Service specifies those funerals that the Council has a statutory duty to provide under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 (Statutory Funerals only) where there are no surviving family members, relatives or any other person who might reasonably be expected to arrange and pay for the funeral, or where no estate exists from which to recover funeral costs. The Provider will render his or her contract directly to the Purchaser. It is the duty of the Purchaser to make any arrangements to recover funeral costs from the estate of the deceased, where this is practicable.
