Interim Contracts for Self Directed Support Services

Negotiated contracts with existing Service Providers of 'Self-Directed Support' services; these are being used to provide a continuation of the service delivery of the current individual Service Users. . These negotiated contracts are being placed on an interim basis (envisioned for up to 9 months) to be used while a new contract award procedure is undertaken to secure longer term arrangements for existing and new Service Users. . The aforementioned contract award procedure will be advertised in a separate Notice, and will be open to existing and new Service Providers to the Council, and be used for the longer term requirements of Self Directed Support. Self-directed support "SDS" is the method of arranging support in a tailor made way so our "Service Users", who are our most vulnerable people (includes: older adults; adults; and, young people), can live more independently. . To maintain relationships and provide continuity for existing Service Users, the Council intend to contract directly with current Service providers for a period of up to 9 months. . These contracts are limited duration, as under a separate exercise, the Council intend to incorporate these requirements alongside the future Home-care support requirements, establish a longer term arrangement, with flexibility to consider new and existing Service Providers.
