Job Vacancy: Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east London borough. We’re one of the fastest growing parts of the country, and one of the most diverse boroughs in London. As a council, what we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to make Redbridge a great place to live. The Community Hubs programme is a flagship initiative at the heart of our vision for the borough. We want to work with residents to establish five Community Hubs and a Civic Hub in strategic locations across the borough. Each hub will reflect local priorities and support activity across their local area. Hubs are physical buildings where local people can come together and use services such as libraries, GP surgeries and community spaces. We will work with local people to co-design each hub, drawing on the strengths, ideas and ambitions of our residents, partners and colleagues. We will develop a local programme of activity and a new model of local service delivery. We believe that by giving more power to citizens, we can improve how the council works and strengthen our communities. ABOUT THE JOB We are looking for an inspiring, well-organised and effective Community Hubs Programme Manager who is passionate about working in collaboration with local people and colleagues, to drive the successful delivery of the Community Hubs programme. You will be responsible for managing the programme for five Community Hubs and the Ilford Civic Hub: multi-agency, public-facing facilities which will support a range of community-led, council and health functions. You will build and manage relationships with colleagues, members, partner organisations and the wider public, and oversee the delivery of programme work streams and manage staff, partner and contractor relationships. As a senior member of the Community Hubs team, you will play a key role in shaping how the team operates and empowering colleagues to lead change, as well as ensuring that local residents are able to shape what we do.
