Tender description

This prior information notice (PIN) has been issued to the open market to seek expressions of interest from suppliers who wish to participate in a market engagement exercise that will assist Essex County Council (ECC) in understanding the option surrounding haulage, plant machinery and materials marketing related to our network of 21 recycling centres for household waste and five transfer stations. ECC are engaging with the market to shape the replacement of the current ‘Integrated Waste Handling Contract’. The service includes provision of articulated bulker vehicles and staffing as necessary to transfer residual waste and biowastes from five WTSs to treatment/disposal locations. In addition Roll-on/Roll-off and vehicles and staffing to service the network of 21 recycling centres transferring waste and recycling to final treatment or disposal locations. We are keen to speak to hauliers with the capability to deliver services on this scale or smaller hauliers who are interested in delivering the services on a consortium or master vendor basis. ECC are engaging with the market to shape the replacement of the current ‘Integrated Waste Handling Contract’. Services currently provided include the operation and maintenance of 21 recycling centres and five transfer stations. ECC would like to engage with suppliers of plant machinery for use across our network of waste transfer stations and RCHW sites. We are interested to hear from suppliers of machinery for long term lease arrangements or purchase. Plant required will be a mixture of loading shovels, 360 material handlers and plant suitable for mobile compaction. ECC are engaging with the market to shape the replacement of the current ‘Integrated Waste Handling Contract’. As part of these services ECC are investigating options for marketing and disposal of recyclable materials. ECC are keen to engage with material brokers who have the capability to manage sales and disposal of recyclable material whilst achieving the best financial outcome.
