Oban Operational Improvement Works

Tender description

A site safety audit was conducted at Oban Ferry Terminal following a serious collision which occurred in 2018. This audit identified several concerns relating to the operation and layout of the site. Temporary measures have been in place since this time, and these works are the proposed permanent solution in order to allow the terminal to continue to operate safely in years to come. The works include, but are not limited to, the following key activities: -The re-alignment of the junction and footpath at the entrance to Oban Ferry Terminal; -The procurement and laying of new kerbs and tactile paving; -Surfacing works to the footpath at the entrance to Oban Ferry Terminal and pedestrian walkways within; -Road markings throughout the ferry terminal; -The procurement or fabrication and installation of pedestrian barriers throughout the site; -The procurement or fabrication and installation of pedestrian security gates at pedestrian crossings; -The modification of existing pedestrian barriers within the site by the installation of mesh infill panels; -The design, procurement and installation of wig-wag signals at the entrance to the ferry berths; -The procurement and installation of new signage; -The procurement and installation of street furniture
