Tender description
Brent Council has an exciting opportunity as they seek to recommission their local Healthwatch provision, a statutory duty under the Health and Social Care Act 2012. The aim of local Healthwatch is to act as the consumer voice for health and social care. It aims to benefit patients, users of services, carers and the public through promoting and supporting the involvement of people in the commissioning and provision of services, helping services to be more responsive to people’s needs and improving outcomes. Healthwatch Brent will be effective and independent and is expected to coordinate and build upon on all of the existing mechanisms for engaging users of health and social care services. It will also be expected to establish relationships that engage communities, patient, service user, carer groups and bring a strong voice to the Health and Wellbeing Board. The total budget for the whole contract period of 5 year will be up to GBP 628 761. The duration of the contracts will be for an initial period of 3 years, with an option to extend for 2 years on a 1 + 1 basis. The estimated commencement of the services will be 1 April 2021 The provider we are looking for must therefore be able to demonstrate that they have a track record of delivering services of a similar nature and can evidence that they are able to achieve the best possible outcomes for service users. Interested providers are invited to attend a provider engagement session to be held on Wednesday the 2nd September. The event will give providers further information on the services and procurement process. We are also planning a range of capacity building activities. Providers interested in attending the online provider engagement session must book their place by expressing an interest and completing the template using the messaging system of the online portal no later than 5 p.m. on 28 August 2020. Providers are asked to limit the number of attendees to no more than 1 representative. This PIN does not constitute a commitment by the Council to undertake any procurement exercise and the Council reserves the right to change its approach. A separate notice will be published if a procurement exercise is undertaken.
