National Grid operates a Global Mobility Policy and has employees on international assignments predominantly in the US, the UK and BE. The scope of the requirements ranges from arranging travel, to finding housing, setting up schooling along with expense management. As part of our expatriate policy, we also contract for tax advisory services. The current provider aids our assignees with entrance briefings, along with the filing of tax returns in both their assigned and home country. In additional to the employees on international assignments, we also have tax filing and related obligations for employees who are not on assignment but who are frequent travellers to a particular country. National Grid are looking to review how we contract for Global Mobility and Tax Advisory services. This includes getting an understanding of whether one supplier can provide all the services we require or whether our requirements lend to smaller, more specific contracts. As outlined in II.1.4).
