Developing a Library of Measures to Support Nature Recovery in Scotland’s Marine Environment

This research contract will draw together existing knowledge and outputs from nature restoration projects as well as academic, policy and grey literature on conservation and enhancement, to prepare a long-list (‘library of measures’) of potential conservation and enhancement actions that could be undertaken to support nature recovery and progress towards Good Environmental Status in Scotland’s marine environment. This tender will inform a strategic approach to marine nature restoration in Scotland and contribute to delivering nature positive offshore wind and marine developments in the future. Lot 1: Sectoral marine plan roadmap of actions Marine Scotland is commissioning a project to develop a roadmap of actions to address evidence gaps identified in Habitats Regulations Appraisal for the draft Sectoral Marine Plan for Offshore Wind . This roadmap will cover ornithology, as well as exploring potential compensatory measures in relation to seabirds to help inform discussion and future decision-making processes.
