Closed Landfill Maintenance Services

Tender description

The Borough Council of Calderdale (hereinafter referred to as the Council) is currently responsible for four closed landfills that require regular maintenance. The landfills that require maintenance are as follows: • Cromwell Bottom • Woodhouse Road • Cockhill • Scout Road (each, a Landfill and together, the Landfills). Cromwell Bottom is still under the control of an Environmental Permit, which is regulated by the Environment Agency. The Council requires the Landfills to be adequately maintained in order to: • prevent environmental damage; • make sure the Council is fulfilling its environmental responsibilities and; • help reduce the amount of resources that is spent on these sites. The Council also requires the servicing of some highways and flood management equipment on a regular basis to ensure their efficiency.
