The Sampling and Analysis of Groundwater at selected locations on the island of Ireland

This is an ADVERT ONLY to advise of an Invitation to Quote for the sampling and analysis of groundwater at selected locations on the island of Ireland. MAXIMUM BUDGET OF 160,000 EUROS Responses over this value will automatically be rejected and not evaluated further. This work is part of the CatchmentCARE project. The CatchmentCARE project is being funded through the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, which is managed by the Special EU Programme’s Body. Match-funding has been provided by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Northern Ireland and the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government in Ireland making a grand total of €13.8 million. The British Geological Survey (BGS) is a partner on the Catchment Care project and responsible for the delivery of the groundwater monitoring stations work package. Our aim is to install high quality groundwater monitoring stations within the eligible area that will enable groundwater resources to be properly monitored for future preservation and management. The accurate sampling of the monitoring stations is therefore vital to the success of this work package, to ensure the appropriate actions required to assist in the achievement of the Water Framework Directive over the three catchment areas can be implemented. The successful tenderer is required to undertake sample collection and onsite analysis at the 50 groundwater monitoring points which have been installed. As drilling is not expected to commence until August 2020 then it is anticipated that one sampling round will take place at up to 18 groundwater monitoring points and 12 springs in December 2020, 3 samplings rounds at 50 groundwater monitoring points and 12 springs in 2021 and 2 sampling rounds at 50 groundwater monitoring points and 12 springs in 2022.
