TfL will be going to the market for adhesion improver and lubrication sticks. Adhesion improver is a seasonal requirement applied during the leaf fall period in Autumn mostly. Adhesion improver increase purchase between running wheels and the rails in times where grip is low. Lube sticks are used year-round. The product is a dry lubricant that is transferred onto the wheel flange to provide lubrication to the wheel rail interface and controls the co-efficient of friction between the wheel flange and side of the rail (gauge face) and to check rails. Please note that this PIN is not a call for competition. This prior information notice is being used as a medium for London Underground (LUL) to engage with interested parties prior to a call for competition in order to better understand the market capabilities. The requirement is to supply adhesion improver and lubrication sticks to all LUL fleet and track areas. It is advisable that interested parties register on the Transport for London's eTendering portal ProContract which can be found at the following address: https://procontract.due-north.com There is an early market engagement questionnaire attached and completed questionnaires are to be returned by 31 August 2020. Any questionnaires returned after this time will not be reviewed. The contracting authority reserves the right to award the contract in whole or in part or not at all as a result of any call for competition. The contracting authority shall not be liable for any costs or expenses incurred by any bidders in responding to this notice or in tendering for the proposed contract(s).
