Consultancy Services to Provide Specialist Technical Support on Gender Equality in the Implementation of Ireland’s Policy for International Development

The Policy Unit in the DCAD of the DFA seeks to engage consultancy services to provide technical support to the Gender Equality team. The overall purpose of the consultancy is to provide technical support services to DFA in supporting the implementation of Ireland’s International Development Policy commitments in advancing gender equality. The consultancy services will be expected to provide technical support in contributing to, but not limited to, the following tasks: - Support to the development of organizational strategies and tools to guide the implementation of Ireland’s international foreign policy commitments on gender equality including strategic guidance on the application of gender transformative approaches in Ireland’s development cooperation programme; - Support the strengthening of the capacity of Department staff at HQ and in missions overseas on gender equality including through the development and delivery of training and development of programme guidance on gender equality in line with Ireland’s foreign policy framework on gender equality including on the application of gender transformative approaches; - Provide technical support to staff in Ireland’s missions in partner countries to integrate gender equality, including women, peace and security, within mission strategies and programmes; - Support Ireland’s participation and engagement at national and international fora on gender equality; - Support the generation of knowledge and learning on gender equality across Ireland’s development cooperation programme that can contribute to various communities of practice and the Department’s engagement across relevant global and regional processes; and - Provide external expert analysis and briefings as required.
